Meiji period Japanese heavy cast bronze candle stand. It stands on three legs with foo-foo dogs on top, and has two handles that are shaped as elephant heads. The shoulder has a cartouches on each side depicting the Buddha surrounded by flowes, and vines on the top bulb. It was blackened with tarnish and patina, but we have polished it to reveal the design more clearly. Made in Japan and for significant age.
