Ik Onkar is the beginning of the Sikh Mool mantra, and the first phrase in the Guru Granth Sahib, and the first composition of Guru Nanak. It means 'one God who is one with everything'. It reminds us that there is only One Power within the whole creation and it flows through everything, seen and unseen. This Power is who we actually are. It is our True Identity, and it is with a deep connection with this power that we should live our lives towards fulfilling our destiny.
