These figures were inspired by paintings by Raja Ravi Varma, who was the first Indian painter to apply European-style realism to Indian subjects, creating a unique style of Indian Naturalism. Prints of his paintings became so popular that German porcelain makers started making figures based on his paintings, Victorian style figures based on Hindu mythology. This figure shows Krishna standing on a lotus in his classic pose with legs crossed, with his hands such that he is plating the flute. He wears a garland of flowers, a light green cape and a yellow dhoti, and gold ornaments around his neck, wrists and ankles. There is some loss of paint, but the porcelain figurine is in perfect condition given its age. Made in Germany in the late 1800s to the early 1900s.

Approximately 6.2 inches in height, 2.3 inches in width, 2.2 inches in depth and 179 grams in weight.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0177/1546/files/Vintage_Krishna_in_German_made_Porcelain00001.jpg?v=1790422742
