I miss a time when people were nice. And warm and gentle and caring and kind. When children floated boats in puddles and danced in the rain instead of facing the TV all day. When books were dog-eared instead of flatscreened, and letters were handwritten and heartfelt. I miss a time when we weren't all in a hurry. When we didn't eat so fast, earn so much and feel so empty inside. When times were slow and we owned things that money can't buy. When there was time for patience, understanding, and really listening. When people accepted more and judged less. When we connected more and networked less. A time when people weren't cynical, jaded, distrustful, insensitive. When we would share, care and respect- when we were strong enough to be kind. I miss a time when we had time. And I hope we bring back kindness.
