Classic Roman bust of David, after Michelangelo's most famous sculpture, executed by Italian sculptor G. Ruggeri. It is made of an ivory-coloured composite of alabaster, marble powder and resin, and mounted on a black marble base with beautiful veining. David was created as a symbol of strength, courage, and youthful beauty, and is one of the most recognized works of Renaissance sculpture. It is signed G. Ruggeri on the side of the sculpture. Made in Italy, most likely in the 1970s.
