Vintage French bowls that are a part of a Hors D'oeuvre set with the heart shaped lidded bowls also available in this drop. They are ornamented with beautiful chrysanthemums on the inside, and rimmed with gilted floral borders. These are by Hallimax, a French brand that distributed high-quality, romantic-style porcelain, often utilizing porcelain blanks from famed ceramic regions like Limoges. These open bowls are meant for finger-friendly appetizers like salted nuts, mixed olives, cocktail crackers, grapes, or berries during high-tea or dinner parties. The lidded ones are for spreads, dips, cheeses or warm starters which need two be kept fresh until serving. Made in France in the 1980s.
