Vintage silver plated Christofle gravy boat with underplate in their most historic Malmaison design. This large sized sauce boat has an exquisitely sculptural imperial eagle head symbolising rigour and audacity, as the handle. The dynamic shape of the vessel curves toward a wide spout, and rests on an integrated oval tray with a beaded border featuring palmettes. This collection directly channels the aesthetic of the First French Empire under Napoleon Bonaparte and Empress Joséphine, taking its name from their favorite residence, the Château de la Malmaison. The underside bears the hallmark CHRISTOFLE FRANCE, along with the OC initials stamp, attesting to its authenticity and origin. Perfect for serving snacks, or even decoration. This piece should be from the mid 1900s, France.

Approximately 6 inches at its widest, 6 inches in depth and 5.5 inches in height. 723 grams in weight.
