Curated by Eina

Old Soul Collectibles are delivered only within India
Rare bronze architectural fragment or wall plaque representing King Louis XIV of France, who adopted the sun as his symbol. His reign was one of the most prosperous and culturally rich periods for France. His reign of 72 years and 110 days is the longest recorded of any monarch of a sovereign country in history.
This plaque is beautifully made in raised relief and was most likely produced as part of a larger ensemble, such as the central ornament of a monumental mirror, garniture clock, or architectural panel. The reverse shows a rough-cast surface with multiple mounting posts and clearly stamped assembly numbers, consistent with professional foundry production in France. Originally water or fire-gilded, with the gilding now largely worn, exposing the warm bronze beneath.
Most likely from mid 19th century France.
