Gorgeous and very large blue and white meat platter with a chinoiserie pattern called 'Chinese Flowering Pot' or 'Gardener'. It is almost 19” x 14” and is a rare find. The center depicts two people around a flower pot in the garden by a river, and a wealthy home at the back. On the other side of the river, which is connected by a bridge, is a castle at a height. The plate has a beautiful floral border with four cartouches, two of which depict two men having a conversation, and the other two depict pheasants by a flower tree. It has a fine blue pearlware glaze which is chipped in a couple of places, commiserate with age. Most likely made in England during the 1800s.
This plate is approximately 18.8 inches in length, 13.8 inches in width, and weighs roughly 2.140 kilograms.
