A vintage original Grimwade’s quick cooker bowl made in ironstone ceramic with green transferware. It was used to cook puddings more efficiently with a central funnel which conducts heat to the center of the pudding. Held secure by string, the pot was put in a pan of water, raised to a boil and set to simmer. The lid has all the instructions and diagrams for use in green transfer. The underside of the lid is used for advertising other products manufactured by Grimwade''s. Both the lid and bowl are marked Grimade''s Patent No. 12835/09, 15043/09, 12161/11, and This 'Quick-Cooker' won a gold medal in London in 1911. There is a faint hairline on the cover and a small chip on its inside, but overall the piece is in great vintage condition as a collectible. Made in England.~ Eina Ahluwalia
