Rare Villeroy & Boch stoneware siphon with applied scrollwork in relief on the front and back. The beautiful medallion-like ornament in front has the inscription: "Georg Liebig Sohn in Darmstadt", and the one at the back has a crowned coat of arms with two eagles and the letters VB and M at the bottom for Mettlach, where their factory was located. Two medals and banners inscribed "Goldene Ausstellung 1822-1844" are missing from below it. It is made from stoneware with salt glaze, and should be from the mid-1800s.
