Antique Edwardian spirit kettle with its stand, burner and securing pins in superb condition. The kettle sits on a four-legged stand with claw feet, outfitted with securing pins and chains. This design allows the kettle to safely tilt forward to pour hot water without being completely removed from its frame. The ring at the center of the base would hold a small adjustable wick-fed spirit burner to keep the water boiling right at the serving table. The handle on top and the finial are fitted with ebonised wood to shield the server's hands from the heat. The kettle can also be removed from the base by removing the securing pins on both sides. The kettle was made by Roberts & Belk in Sheffield with high-grade silver plate or” Regent Plate”, and the base has all the authenticating stamps including the registration number which was was officially issued by the British patient office in the year 1902, confirming that this kettle was made in England between 1902 and 1910.
