This vintage Iranian Bid-e-Majnoun carpet captures the poetic essence of Persian garden design. Set against a deep midnight-blue field, it features the iconic Weeping Willow motif, Bid-e-Majnoun, a symbol of romance and longing in Persian art. The design is a combination of weeping willow, cypress, poplar and fruit trees in rectilinear form, while the rich palette of crimson, ivory, green, and soft gold brings warmth and depth to the carpet. The pattern’s origin was attributed to Kurdish tribes, as the earliest known examples are from the Bidjar area in northwestern Iran. The border frames the composition with traditional floral and geometric guards. This rug is a piece of woven heritage and would add so much character and vibrance to any home.
