Vintage Japanese wall panel featuring the wild autumn grass influenced by the Rinpa art movement. It is made in the Taishō Style with Sumi ink over hand-oxidized silver-leaf ground (Yakibaku & Ibushigin). The panel has raised edges and an integrated hanging loop at the back. It is in beautiful vintage condition with age-appropriate surface scuffs, and has no structural compromises. Antique cast bronze dharmachakra with a central lotus rosette within the spoked wheel. The top has an ornamental finial with a stupa like motif and the base features a devotional figure in a meditative pose holding an offering or bowl. The wavy, hook-like spokes projecting outward mimic flaming jewels or stylized rays common in Esoteric (Tantric) Buddhist art. The raised round base has an alternating pattern of a spray of leaves and drops.. The sconce opens up into a beautiful flower. The sconce and the base has a conduit for a wire to be passed through so that this candle stand can be converted into a lamp as well. The lattice allows fragrant smoke to curl up gently through the pattern. The censer has soft rounded edges, and the base has a four-character seal mark that reads "Qianlong Nian Zhi”, or Made during the Qianlong period.
